Project Report | Jan 8, 2026
January 2026 Update

By Eric Ortega from Global Changemakers | Programs Director

Dear Donor,

With the beginning of 2026, we are prepared to further scale the impact of the diverse programmes and opportunities available for Changemakers across the world. We want to take a minute to recap some of the accomplishments of 2025: First, the youth-led projects we have supported, in collaboration with our global community, achieved a remarkable reach of +186K beneficiaries in 2025. We distributed 47 grants for projects across 33 countries in 2025, increasing our total number of funded initiatives to 559. Importantly, 73% of the funding was directed to students from our Changemakers School, made possible by the generous support of our partners. In addition to that, Global Changemakers in collaboration with ATKV hosted the 13th Global Youth Summit, in the vibrant city of Cape Town, South Africa, welcoming 50 new Changemakers selected from an application pool of 103 countries. Fully funded, in-person gatherings like this are rare and powerful. In a world where meaningful human connections are increasingly fragile, the 2025 Global Youth Summit reminded us of the strength that comes from coming together to learn, collaborate, and act.

Our online school remained a cornerstone of our impact throughout 2025, efficiently and inclusively reaching communities through accessible education and small grants. Amid global challenges like conflicts, climate uncertainty, and rapid technological change, your support sustained vital spaces for learning, empathy, and collaboration, empowering young people to lead with humanity and purpose. This intentional, inclusive, and hopeful human connection remains our most powerful driver of lasting change.

Key Course Achievements in 2025

Our existing courses continued to grow, demonstrating significant reach and proven success:

  • Project Management for Changemakers: Now exceeding 8,700 students, this highly practical course is designed to equip young leaders with the essential skills for the entire project lifecycle, from initial ideation to final evaluation. We expanded access by providing over 500 scholarships in 2025. The robust training quality is evident as a remarkable 73% of all awarded grant funding opportunities in 2025 went to course graduates, underscoring its role as a primary pipeline for effective global changemakers.
  • Menstrual, Sexual, and Reproductive Health (MSRH): The original curriculum continued to grow, while the new French version surpassed its enrollment goal with 3,808 students. Through cascade training, the course reached over 20,460 people and resulted in a 94% increase in knowledge.

Expanding Accessibility with New Courses

In 2025, we launched two new course versions in French and Spanish, significantly expanding accessibility for people from diverse backgrounds:

  • Menstrual, Sexual, and Reproductive Health Course (French): This new version was developed by doctors and experts from francophone countries to specifically address the existing need forthis vital information in francophone regions.
  • Ecology for Changemakers (Spanish): This new course offers a unique perspective, featuring experts from the LATAM region who delve into the specific realities and challenges of the Global South.
