Omkar's journey with OSCAR Foundation began nine years ago when his dream of becoming a football player seemed out of reach due to limited opportunities. His passion for football was overshadowed by the challenges of his circumstances. However, everything changed in 2017 when he was sponsored by Liz. At just 11 years old, Liz saw Omkar’s potential and opened doors for him that he never thought possible.

Liz first met Omkar during the OSCAR UK School Tour in 2017, where she watched him play football and perform as a drummer. Impressed by his talent, Liz was proud to support his growth. With her support and OSCAR’s guidance, Omkar’s skills and confidence flourished.

Omkar’s dedication led him to participate in the OSCAR U14 UK Tour in 2017, leaving a strong impression on everyone. He continued to excel and was selected for the Mumbai City FC U18 Squad. Omkar showcased his talent in prestigious tournaments like the 2nd Division I-League and the U21 Reliance Development League, earning the Best Player award at the Colaba Super League.

Omkar’s success story highlights the power of support and opportunity. Through Liz's sponsorship and OSCAR's programmes, he not only improved his football skills but also gained valuable life experiences. Today, Omkar plays for Mumbai City FC and dreams of representing India, inspiring young players in his community by proving that with the right support, dreams can become reality.

Priya’s journey with OSCAR began at the age of 10, when she discovered football through OSCAR’s Life Skills and Football programme. Growing up in Ambedkar Nagar, a close-knit community with limited opportunities for girls, Priya faced constant challenges—particularly criticism for playing football. Yet she refused to let these obstacles hold her back.

With the support of the OSCAR Child Sponsorship Programme, Priya not only developed her technical football skills but also transformed as a person. The life skills sessions sharpened her decision-making abilities, both on and off the field. Her dedication and resilience lead to a remarkable achievement in 2019, when she represented India and OSCAR at the Dana Cup in Denmark. Her team won the tournament—one of the proudest moments of her life.

Today, Priya’s hard work continues to pay off. She has been selected to represent Maharashtra in the U18 and senior women category, marking another milestone in her journey.

Sponsorship has been key to her growth, providing access to football training, life skills education, workshops and crucial support for daily expenses and nutrition. She expresses deep gratitude for the financial assistance, which has enabled her to travel to matches and participate in tournaments.
