In the heart of our association, there’s a place where cancer takes a back seat and childhood takes center stage — our play center. It's a space full of color, imagination, and laughter, where children can simply be children, even if just for a moment.
At the heart of this joyful space is Dafne, a young girl who has become the radiant face of our campaigns. Her smile lights up the room, her laughter is contagious, and her grace reflects the very essence of what we strive to preserve — the joy every child deserves, even in the hardest of times. Dafne loves to be photographed, especially alongside her friends from the clinic, and those photos tell stories words could never capture.
Right next to the play area, there’s a restaurant where we order meals for the children. They enjoy them either there or inside the playroom, sharing moments that feel normal, safe, and full of care.
Dafne reminds us every day why these spaces matter. They’re not just about play — they are about healing, hope, and holding on to childhood even when cancer tries to take it away.
"This Is My Favorite Place" — By Dafne
Sometimes I forget I’m here because the hospital. When I’m in the playroom, it feels like I’m just with my friends — playing, laughing, and taking pictures (I love pictures!).
We talk, draw, and wait together until the doctor calls us. Some of us are scared, some are tired… but when we’re here, it’s like we can breathe again.
This place helps me feel brave. I know I’m not alone. And when I see my friends smile, it makes me happy too.
I think every child who’s fighting cancer needs a place like this — not just to play, but to feel like themselves again.
