To our lovely supporters,
The Access to Clean Water project aims to provide safe and sustainable drinking water to primary schools in rural Zimbabwe. Over 17 years ago, UKAid donated manual boreholes that many schools rely on but they are now deteriorating, producing contaminated water which can pose serious health risks.
Due to limited funding, we have been purchasing sanitation tablets that cost around 20p each and work within 15 minutes by removing contaminants. Each tablet cleans 15-25 litres of water. Thanks to generous small donations, we have been able to supply these sanitation tablets to 100 primary schools but this is only temporary, a sustainable approach is urgently required.
The only ways to ensure consistent access to clean water is to install new boreholes which cost $4,350 per school. These would supply clean and safe drinking water for 10-15 years to thousands of children and their communities. Currently, 35 schools are in desperate need of new boreholes and we aim to raise $152,250 to fully fund this project.
Your support can make a huge impact as every donation brings us closer to permanent clean water solutions for these children. With your help we can move from temporary fixes to sustainable change, ensuring every child has safe drinking water for years to come.
Thank you for your support.
