Protect her, Empower her

Dear Patron,

We bring to you our latest report on “Protect women from sex trafficking in Mumbai"..

Sex trafficking remains a significant human rights issue in India, affecting countless women and children. Despite being illegal, it persists due to systemic challenges, organized crime networks, and socio-economic vulnerabilities. Women and children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds are particularly at risk. Traffickers often lure victims with false promises of employment or marriage.

To save such women and girls from Exploitation, El Shaddai runs the Rena Project in Mumbai where there is a newly opened women’s shelter for the rescued women of the red light areas. Presently there are 6 women residing in this shelter. We have our outreach team who each day meet 40 women from these red light areas to provide support and help them transform their lives.

We have a story of a woman who is now free from the bondage of slavery. This woman is Shaheen (named Changed). She was found roaming on the streets with wounds on her legs, tattered clothes and suffering from Tuberculosis. The outreach team found out that she was brought to the brothel by traffickers at a very young age.

She tried each day to escape from these horrors and one day she succeeded to do so. But since she had no place to go back to, she lived on the streets and begged for alms to survive. She slept on the cold streets without even a blanket to cover herself. She was immediately rescued by our outreach workers and enrolled in the women’s shelter. Here she was given a warm place, nutritious food, and care and comfort. Although the psychological scars of her ordeal remained she is presently receiving extensive support to heal and reintegrate into society. Her story serves as a reminder of the resilience of survivors and the need for comprehensive rehabilitation programs to help them rebuild their lives.

By addressing the root causes and providing holistic support to survivors, India can make significant strides in combating this grave human rights violation.

We can save all such women only with the continuous support that you provide to our mission. We are forever grateful to you all for your love and support and we cannot thank you enough.

"Together, we can build a world where no woman is trafficked."

 With Gratitude

 Thanking you

 Sincerely

 El Shaddai Family
