Dear Friends,
In Zimbabwe, the issue of child marriage is alarmingly prevalent, with 34% of girls married before the age of 18 and 5% married before they turn 15. The majority of these girls are married off at an average age of just 12 years old.
Over the past three months, our team has been dedicated to supporting girls who have fallen victim to child marriages. These girls are now safe in our care, undergoing rehabilitation and receiving much-needed support. This is a costly and lengthy process, but thanks to your support, we have achieved a success rate of over 90%.
Currently, we are supporting 23 girls at our center. Your donations have enabled us to provide them with safe accommodation, food, mental health support, training, and education. For five of these girls, we have even managed to secure placements in a small private all-girls school.
Due to safety concerns, we cannot share the full stories of many of our girls. However, we can tell you that we have rescued or provided help to girls as young as 10 years old. This is a massive undertaking, and the welfare of these girls remains our top priority.
We aspire to expand our outreach in the future and work with government authorities to tackle this issue on a broader scale. However, we’ve noticed a recent slowdown in donations. Your contributions are vital for us to continue this important work. We urge you to consider donating to support our cause. Your generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of these children.
Thank you for your continued support!
