Our Vision: Rainforest Conservation & Education Center
We’re thrilled to share that Rainforest Protectors Trust is actively exploring purchasing a property for the Rainforest Conservation and Education Center.
This space will serve as:
- A hub for ecological restoration and native species protection
- A venue for hands-on environmental education and community engagement
- A sanctuary for research, reflection, and rewilding
Imagine a place where rainforest restoration meets hands-on education—a living sanctuary where native trees are replanted, endangered species find refuge, and students, scientists, and nature lovers come together to learn and protect. That’s the vision behind our Rainforest Conservation and Education Center.
By supporting this initiative, you’re not just funding a building—you’re investing in a future where communities reconnect with nature, conservation becomes a shared experience, and every acre protected tells a story of hope. Your donation helps us raise much needed funds to purchase a suitable property, and launch programs that inspire lifelong
stewardship.
Let’s grow this vision together.

World Rainforest Day 2025
By Sriyantha Perera | Settlor, Rainforest Protectors Trust

World Rainforest Day was celebrated this Sunday June 22nd 2025. That morning, the team at Rainforest Protectors Trust was actively pursuing setting up our first Rainforest Conservation and Education Center in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is home to some of the world’s most biodiverse ecosystems, including irreplaceable lowland rainforests like Sinharaja. These ancient forests not only protect endangered wildlife, but also safeguard our climate, water, and way of life.
At Rainforest Protectors Trust, we are committed to preserving and expanding these vital green lungs through land conservation. Every tree we protect is a promise to future generations.
Right now we urgently need your support in raising the required funds towards the Rainforest Conservation and Education Center project. Join us in defending Sri Lanka’s rainforests—because when we protect rainforests, we protect life itself.

Rainforest Protectors Trust - Update May 2025
By Sriyantha Perera | Settlor, Rainforest Protectors Trust

Past couple of months Rainforest Protectors Trust has been in negotiations with sellers of several privately held forest lands in the buffer zone of Sinharaja World Heritage Rainforest in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts we were not able to raise the required funds to protect 5 acres of private forest pictured here, which has been sold to a different party and currently in the process of been clearcut to grow tea.
We are now urgently fundraising to purchase a remaining 1.5 acre land directly bordering Sinharaja rainforest which we believe is suitable for our Rainforest Conservation and Education Center.
Saving these last remaining tracts of tropical rainforest is crucial to ensure the success of creating a contiguous protected buffer zone which will be regularly monitored and protected by Rainforest Guardians. Success of our projects depend on supporters like you, and we hope you will continue to donate and encourage others to do so. In the years ahead, you can look back and feel happy for your contribution to make the planet a better place for all living things.
Please consider making a donation or becoming a member and help save these last remaining pristine rainforests for future generations!
