Help Iraqi Children with Disabilities - Standing Beside Children with Special Needs
Jan – 2026
Iraqi Children’s Hope Organization (ICHOPE) makes a commitment to protect and uplift children living with disabilities and mental health challenges. In a country where access to specialized care remains limited, your support continues to be a lifeline for families raising children with autism, intellectual disabilities, speech delays, emotional trauma, and physical impairments.
This quarter, your generosity helped transform uncertainty into stability and isolation into progress.
Program Highlights – This Quarter
During the past three months, our Mental Health & Disability Support Program focused on strengthening care, continuity, and family engagement through:
Measurable Impact
Thanks to donor support, we achieved the following results this quarter:
Several parents reported that their children are now calmer, more communicative, and better able to engage with siblings and caregivers—changes that once felt impossible.
Success Story: “Ahmad Found His Voice”
Ahmad is a 7-year-old boy living with autism. When he first joined the program, he avoided eye contact, spoke very few words, and often withdrew into silence. His mother worried every day about his future, unsure how to help him.
Through consistent speech therapy and emotional support funded by this program, Ahmad began making small but meaningful progress. First came eye contact. Then gestures. And one day, he spoke his first clear sentence.
His mother shared with us:
“Before this program, Ahmad lived in his own world. Now he looks at me, calls me ‘Mama,’ and wants to play. I finally feel hope.”
Today, Ahmed attends therapy regularly and continues to build confidence step by step that early and sustained support can change a child’s life.
Looking Forward
In the coming months, ICHOPE aims to:
Your support makes this work possible. Every donation helps a child gain skills, dignity, and hope for a better future.
Together, we are ensuring that disability does not mean disadvantage—and that every child is seen, supported, and valued.
