2025 Annual Report
By Anna McGinn | Project Leader
Thank you for your continued support. Over the past year, SAWS has provided welfare assistance, sterilisation, and essential veterinary care to hundreds of animals across Eswatini. These achievements are only possible because of our dedicated donors and volunteers, whose generosity, time, and commitment sustain our work in challenging conditions. During the ongoing Foot and Mouth crisis, veterinary access has been limited, so we adapted our approach by bringing animals to our shelters where partner veterinarians can provide treatment, sterilisation, and follow-up care. This flexibility has allowed us to continue supporting vulnerable animals despite operational constraints. Your support enables lifesaving care, reduces suffering, promotes responsible pet ownership, and helps build more compassionate and resilient communities for the future.

It's springtime here in Eswatini with clear blue skies and lovely warm sunshine! It's such a relief that the cold winter nights are finally over and all our animals are enjoying the milder temperatures.
We are excited to announce that on September 28, we will be supporting a local community-based NGO with their one-day Spay Clinic in the Northern part of Eswatini where they work. Spay Clinics require a lot of planning, and our Team has started the process of organising vets, vet assitants and volunteers, as well as essential supplies, equipment and much more!
We're looking forward to sharing with you the results of this Spay Clinic in our next report.
Whilst we wait for the next Spay Clinic, we've had some uegent welfare cases whereby the animals needed to be sterilised. With your support, we were able to sterilise a total of 25 cats and dogs in the last three months at our facilities in Mbabane and Manzini.
With every animal that we sterilise, we are preventing hundreds of unwanted kittens and puppies from coming into this world only to lead a life of pain and suffering.
We are grateful for your continuous support that enables us to spay/neuter as many cats and dogs as we possibly can.
Because it is the only humane solution to ending pet overpopulation.
Our heartfelt thank you from all of us at SAWS!

We trust you are all well.
We are excited to announce that this year, we will once again be collaborating with a local community development organisation to hold a Spay Clinic. The target community is in the North of Eswatini where they work, and it will be held some time in September.
Our Spay/Neuter Program is a crucial part of our long-term strategy to achieving a well-managed and healthy population of cats and dogs, and a reduction in feral population in a humane manner.
We are grateful for your continued support, and we will keep you posted on our next spay clinic.
