On behalf of Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration, and our partners in Sri Lanka, we wish to thank you for your generosity since we launched this Emergency Appeal in June 2022.
During Sri Lanka's socio-economic crisis, the care you have supported through this project has meant those in need received compassionate care – everything from sterile cotton and other medical supplies to blood tests and cancer treatments.
We continued this GlobalGiving Project longer than we had originally intended, however, we have decided to close this appeal. Our palliative care collaborations in Sri Lanka continue with our partner organizations through in-person and online training of care providers. To stay informed about our ongoing programs in South Asia please visit twoworldscancer.ca and subscribe to our quarterly newsletters.
From all of us at Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration Thank You!

Your impact is simple and significant
By Chuck Russell | Communications Lead
From cotton wool to cancer tests, your donations through GlobalGiving to Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration have a direct impact in the lives of Sri Lankans accessing palliative care.
The purchase of sterile cotton wool may seem insignificant, but it is as essential to care as covering the $20 cost of blood work for cancer patients.
As Sri Lanka continues to emerge from the 2023 socio-economic crisis, the country has again been affected significantly, significantly, by the cuts to global aid.
For the more than 4000 patients in the Northern Province alone in need of palliative care, access to care often means making difficult choices, prioritizing family needs over urgently needed care.
Thanks to you – our generous donors – our partner organizations continue to provide supportive and compassionate care in Northern and Eastern Provinces.
From all of us at Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration – Thank you!

A New Year - New hope
By Chuck Russell | Communications Lead
With the New Year comes new hope. Since 2023, our generous donors have helped provide hope in the form of supportive and compassionate care to those facing cancer diagnosis or other life-limiting illness in Northern and Eastern provinces.
The two-year-long, socio-economic crisis in Sri Lanka has made receiving cancer treatment and much-needed palliative care very difficult for many patients.
For those facing life-limiting illness, access to treatment has often meant making difficult choices – prioritizing family needs over urgently needed care. And getting care has been further complicated as our partner organizations have faced shortages of medicine and surgical supplies.
Thanks to our generous donors, our partner organizations have had the ability to maintain those necessary supplies. It means those in need are receiving supportive and compassionate care.
Thank you from all of us at Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration, our partner organizations in Sri Lanka, and the patients they care for!
