Fulfilling Dreams in Kabul

By Freshta Karim | Founder

Dear friend,

I’m excited to share that we launched three new Mini-Library Vans this February: the Orange Mini-Van, the Green Mini-Van, and the Purple Mini-Van. Thanks to your support, we are now reaching many children who are not enrolled in school.

From the moment the Vans launched, they began making a meaningful difference, especially for girls. One of our Librarians shared a particularly touching memory involving a young girl who regularly visits our Purple Mini-Van. This girl has a physical disability and is not attending school, but she has a deep love for stories and games.

At the time, our Library team had just started working in the area and was exploring new communities to reach. The little girl would wait for the Library every day at one o’clock. On the days the team arrived, she was overjoyed and would ask, “I wait for you every day—why don’t you come more often?” When the librarian explained that visits were only on scheduled days, she replied, “I wish you could come every day.”

She shared that when the Library came, it felt like she was fulfilling her dreams. Although she wasn’t in school, she felt that the Library was the only place where she could learn and play. She expressed how happy she was to see the librarians and to play with her peers. To her, the Library was a world of games and stories—a dream world that had become real—and she always expressed her gratitude for its presence in her neighborhood.

Thanks to you, children like her now have a space where they can dream. On behalf of our entire team, thank you for your continued support!

Warm regards,

Freshta Karim
