Can you believe it, I actually made it to the summit.
What a journey it has been. From rain and frost (even inside my tent) to snow and high altitude sickness, this trip provided it all. But most importantly, I had the time of my life with people I only just met but who nevertheless felt like family.
Although it’s already been almost three months since I went off to conquer Kilimanjaro, I still look at those photo and videos almost daily. And yes, I still have to pinch myself to believe it.
I’ve not only conquered this amazing mountain in one of the most beautiful countries Africa has to offer, I also overcame doubts and fears about myself and my ability to reach for the stars. Even though I have faced plenty of personal and physical challenges, this one has topped the chart. And I didn’t do it alone. You were with me all the way. You encouraged and pushed me on summit night when my body almost caved in. Together we jumped for joy (only mentally my body didn’t allow for abrupt and harsh movements) when we reached the Roof of Africa and with your help I overcame the physical fatigue I fell into the days following the hike.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Thank you for your generous and kind donation. Thank you for believing in me. It’s a very humble experience receiving your support for a cause so dear and close to my heart.
I wish you and your loved ones the most magical and blessed New Year.
Take care, be kind and courageous,
All my love,
Nici
