Training 1,500 Women Entrepreneurs in Pakistan

After the success of our first training cycle, the atmosphere at the Vocational Center is once again filled with the sound of sewing machines humming, fabrics being carefully measured, and the buzz of women eager to learn. The launch of the second round of vocational training is more than just a continuation of classes—it’s a fresh opportunity for women to take bold steps toward independence and financial stability

This new cycle combines practical skills with entrepreneurial knowledge, ensuring that participants not only learn how to sew but also how to turn their skills into a source of income.

In the first round, we witnessed inspiring stories—graduates who now sew school uniforms for local children, others who started home-based tailoring services, and many who discovered a new sense of confidence and purpose. This second round aims to amplify that impact, with even more women enrolling and some first-round graduates returning as peer mentors.

Beyond learning stitches and patterns, the training offers something even more valuable: hope and community. Women share their stories, support one another, and leave each day with a growing belief in their own abilities. For many, this is the first step toward financial independence and contributing to their families’ income.

By the end of this training cycle, participants will not only complete a graduation showcase to display their creations but will also be connected with opportunities to sell their work and continue learning. With the support of donors and partners, these women are stitching together brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Moqah Foundation Training Program aims to equip women with the skills, knowledge and resources to become confident, self-reliant and active members of their communities. The organisation is now an implementing partner of a legacy project created by a donor to honor her aunt through a vocational training project, aimed at empowering underserved women through skills development. Underserved women, particularly those in low-income or rural areas, face significant barriers to employment and financial independence. Many lack access to formal education and professional training, which limits their ability to participate in the labor market. Vocational training presents a practical, scalable solution to bridge this gap by equipping women with in-demand skills.

The Vocational Training Center will be offering free 3-month courses in drafting, cutting, stitching and finishing. The courses are designed to impart not only technical skills but soft skills as well as entrepreneurship, leadership, communication skills and financial literacy. The initiative addresses systemic gender inequality, economic vulnerability, and lack of access to education and job opportunities among women in marginalized communities through skill-based training. Our objective is to create a sustainable, replicable model of community-based trainings with priority given to single mothers, widows, and women with disabilities.

This vocational training initiative represents a powerful opportunity to uplift marginalized women by equipping them with market-relevant skills and confidence needed to transform their lives. The program can create lasting social and economic impact by increasing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities and promoting gender equity and reducing poverty.
