Ukraine: Help Children's Hospitals to Save Lives

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are grateful to share an important update on one of the projects you helped make possible.

Thanks to your generosity, Bright Kids Charity was able to purchase and deliver a shadowless surgical lamp with a built-in battery at USD 1978 for the surgical room at the Rzhyshchiv Medical Centre for Primary Care in Ukraine. This medical centre provides primary and urgent care for 21 villages, serving a community of approximately 2,000 children.

Why this support matters: 

The surgeon’s office at the centre is used not only for planned procedures, but also for:

• emergency medical examinations,
• urgent surgical interventions,
• and daily outpatient consultations for both children and adults.

In a region where power outages remain frequent, the battery-powered surgical lamp is critical. It allows doctors to continue performing examinations and surgeries safely and effectively, even when electricity is unstable or unavailable. The lamp they previously had used was in a dismal condition and could no longer work properly. 

Medical impact at a glance: 

In 2024 alone, the centre provided care to thousands of patients, including 1,506 surgical consultations and 3,430 emergency appeals, with hundreds of children among those treated. Over the past two years, doctors performed more than 650 surgical operations on children and adults, including urgent procedures for patients from surrounding villages — all relying on safe, well-lit surgical conditions.

Behind every one of these numbers is a real person — a child, a parent, a family — receiving timely medical help when they need it most.
