Dear Supporters,
Following a highly successful visit to Karachi in 2025, our partnership is now moving into an exciting new phase: the development and production of APT equipment for the children who need it most.
Both ACELP and IHRI are building on strong foundations. ACELP has already begun advancing this work, drawing on its regional leadership after its trainers travelled to Nepal in 2024 to participate in the very first APT training in the region. That milestone marked a significant step forward in building local expertise — and now that expertise is being put into action.
At the same time, IHRI is establishing a dedicated workshop to enable local production of the equipment. This investment is crucial. By producing APT equipment locally, we are not only increasing access for children but also strengthening long-term sustainability within the community.
Importantly, IHRI plans to involve parents of children with special needs (SNC) directly in the manufacturing process. Parents will be invited to observe and engage with the skill, care, and craftsmanship involved in creating the equipment. This approach goes beyond production — it is about dignity, transparency, and empowerment. By witnessing the process, families can develop a deep sense of ownership and pride when the equipment is ultimately made for their children.
This next phase represents more than progress in production; it is about building capacity, fostering community, and ensuring that children receive equipment crafted with both technical excellence and heartfelt commitment.
Thank you for your continued support in making this possible. We look forward to sharing further updates as this work continues to grow.
Many thanks from the MAITS Team.
