Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine: A Creative Approach to Sustainability!

Training Session with Field Workers

Dear Supporters,

We’re happy to share an update on our waste management efforts, helping children and communities develop the habit of reducing, reusing, and recycling. While kids learn about this in school, hands-on activities help them understand how small actions can make a big difference.

This Environment Day, school children will take part in fun and creative activities like making useful items from waste, writing essays, and drawing. The idea is simple—to show them how discarded materials can be turned into something useful instead of being thrown away.

To make this happen, 15 dedicated community workers trained by Seva Mandir have been leading the way. They’ve transformed old socks, clothes, magazines, and cardboard into useful items like dolls, coasters, cloth bags, and planters through "Kabaad se Jugaad"—a creative approach to repurposing waste. Now, they are excited to share their knowledge with schoolchildren, passing on these skills and inspiring more people to think differently about waste.

Your support makes all of this possible. Thanks to you, we are building awareness and creating lasting change.

Best Wishes,

Team Seva Mandir
