Noor Society for Disabled Persons would like to thank all of you who supported and contributed to the development of its activities during the period from 1 March to 30 May 2019as it continued to provide free quality rehabilitation services to children with disabilities and their families in Aida and Al-Azzeh refugee camps in Bethlehem, Palestine. Here you will finf summury of our activities that we have done during this time. inadditional to our activities in Ramadan month( the fasting month for Muslims).

 

  • The following is a summary of the rehabilitation programs that continued during this period and the preparation of the beneficiaries in each of them:

 

1. Physiotherapy and rehabilitation program: which continued to provide service to twenty-two people, including 12 children between the ages of 5 to 16 years (5 females, 7 males). One child, 3 years old, suffers from a sensory disease that prevents the development of joints The child was unable to stand and walk alone according to the natural development of children. After intensive sessions, the child is able to walk alone. Two new cases were also evaluated. Who suffer from cerebral palsy.

 

2. The occupational therapy program which is in parallel with the physiotherapy line and deals with the same cases mentioned above.

 

3. Rehabilitation class, which continues to provide various rehabilitation services for seven children between the ages of 1 and 6 males (5 years to 16 years), suffer from various problems (mobility, pronunciation, mild mental disabilities, moderate) and therefore we need more Support so we can receive a larger number and open a second class to serve this category.

 

 

 

4. The learning difficulties program which was joined (7 new cases) after the program was transferred to the association building at the beginning of month 4 where we started to work in schools because the mothers refused to have their children in a center that provides services for persons with disabilities. Lasted for 3 consecutive months and continued achievements and monthly meetings with mothers during the awareness sessions have been approved by all and increased the number of beneficiaries to 36 people to become the number (20 males and 16 females)

 

They are between 6 and 12 years of age and work with groups based on diagnosis. They are included under a program in which their mental abilities (concentration memory, motor coordination) are developed and their learning development is monitored through learning through play.

 

5. The program of home visits during which each of the following categories was visited during this period:

 

 Children 's learning difficulties visit (36 children) twice

 

An inspection visit to the beneficiaries of the physiotherapy program at the end of each month to follow their lifestyle and motor development.

 

A therapeutic visit to 10 treatment cases (for all programs together) accompanied by a doctor who follows their health status.

 

6. Psychosocial support program for individual cases:

 

In which four cases were reported (two male children, two women, 25 years old and 74 others)

 

Accordingly, work was completed with the remaining cases and 6 new cases (4 males and 2 females) were received, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 17.

 

7. Speach therapy  program: which included 23 cases, of which 10 were graduated at the end of the month of 5 (7 of them males, 3 females) and 3 new cases, all male.The target group in this program ranges from (5 to 12 years) and adults (60 to 80)

 

8. Program for training university students and receiving volunteers from inside and outside the country  Where 4 foreign volunteers were received during this period, which lasted for six weeks, during which 10 people with disabilities and learning difficulties were taught some English letters and some vocabulary.

 

  • As for the university students, 6 b received in two programs (learning difficulties, qualification description) where they were students of Al-Quds Open University specialized in special education and social service. Where the hours of training for each student ranged between (90 to 130 hours)
