For the past two months we have been receiving many more cases of girls who are survivors of gender-based violence. In December we helped 41 girls and in January 53 - these are huge numbers that mean that there is such a big need for assistance for so many girls. Sadly, there is nobody else they can turn to. We have made some small changes in a way we work to make it all more efficient and that means that we are able to help more and more girls on a daily basis. We also have an amazing addition to the team, Radha, who now is assisting with overseeing most of the activities at the safe house and the End to Child Marriage component.
We have 130 girls who are a part of our End to Child Marriage component – none of them is considering early marriage anymore, and all are attending the classes. We are very proud of them. All of the girls are now taking part in our karate classes – all are gaining more confidence through these and it’s really wonderful to see.
We have also been delivering a lot of community training classes and every month we have been training between 150 and 200 community members. These classes help with raising awareness about issues surrounding child marriage, domestic violence and they also inform everyone about our services and how any girls needing assistance can get in touch with us.
And from very happy news, our Sabita has become a mum and we now have our newest addition to the Our Sansar family - a beautiful baby boy!
As always, thank you to all our supporters for all the amazing support!
