Casa sin Fronteras' CODAMO Project continues to impact students in schools in Arecibo. During this new semester we have worked with a group of 17 second grade children through Dance, Movement, Therapy and Counseling. In the third grade, 16 students participated in the Art Therapy and Counseling workshops. Both experiences were very fruitful, and the students showed a lot of interest, and improvement in their behavioral and emotional management issues. At another school in the same town, we currently have the participation of eighth-grade students in three different groups: 12 young people use Music Therapy as a tool for personal growth and two groups of 17 students each in the Dance Movement Therapy workshops benefit from the strategies and advice provided by the therapists. These cycles of workshops have proven to be very useful for the personal development of students, their relationships with their peers, behavior in the classroom, and effective management of their emotions and self-esteem. The teachers and principals who have participated with their students express how grateful they are for the positive change they are able to see in the children.
As part of the Casa sin Fronteras projects we continue to offer Counseling and Psychology services for the entire community. These services are confidential, and by appointment.
We appreciate your collaboration that makes this work full of love and dedication possible.
