From Classroom to Home: Expanding English Learning in Canaima

By Isabella Rondon | Finance Department's Chief

Dear Donors and Friends,

We are excited to reconnect with you and share the incredible progress happening in our classrooms!

Building on the momentum from our last update, our students in Canaima continue to grow in confidence and enthusiasm as they learn English. Thanks to your support, our structured enrollment system and communication-focused syllabus have proven to be a huge success. These methods have become the foundation of our program for the entire school year, helping students gain confidence and actively participate in class.

But the learning doesn’t stop when the lesson ends.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our Teachers Commission has launched a new digital support initiative designed to reinforce learning at home.

Our teachers are now curating educational videos adapted to different age groups so students can review lessons in an engaging way. For younger learners especially, this interactive content helps reinforce vocabulary and pronunciation.

When we cannot find the perfect resource online, our dedicated volunteers step in and create custom video lessons themselves.

To complement these materials, our team has developed unit-by-unit Review Guides, which are shared directly with families through parents’ WhatsApp groups. This collaboration between volunteers and parents allows learning to continue seamlessly at home and keeps families actively involved in their children’s education.

‍ Strengthening Our Teaching Team

Behind the scenes, we are also investing in our volunteers to ensure the highest quality learning experience for students.

Every month, our Education Commission hosts training sessions for volunteers preparing to travel to the communities. These sessions align our teaching team on lesson planning, teaching methodology, and classroom preparation.

For students, this means a consistent, organized, and high-quality educational experience, no matter which volunteer is leading the class.

Your Impact

Every printed review guide, every educational video, and every volunteer training session is made possible by your support.

Because of you, we are building a sustainable educational model that empowers children in remote communities with the tools they need to succeed.

Thank you for believing in this mission and for being such an important part of this journey.

Warm regards,
The E-VEN Team
