Our schools in San Rafael are back up and running for 2015 with new faces and new teachers! We now employ six teachers in our secondary school and college from which the students will graduate in Rural Social Sustainable Enterprise. We have also taken on six teachers' assistants to help out in the primary school. They are all students from our college and in return for their work, we pay them a monthly stipend and will help cover their future University costs. Sustainable income plans are coming along well, with the introduction of Plan Tilapia (fish-farming). Plan Café produced a great crop late in 2014 helping to cover some of our college costs. We have also restarted our daily food program which along with daily fruit aims to give the children at least one decent meal a day.
Thank you to all our donors who continually help to make this happen and who will make this happen in the future. Remember that on 6th June we are undertaking The Phoenix Seven Continent Charity Challenge, where you can undertake any fundraising event at home, knowing that fundraisers are being held on the same day around the world. Please do get involved and use this page as your fundraising page - every cent counts!. For more information click here.
Thank you and have a great March!
