The new school year starts in the first week of February and we are ready for the challenges ahead in our secondary school, as well as providing much needed support in the primary and kinder, as well as continuing with and supplementing our daily food and fruit program.
In Honduras we plan to increase the number of local teachers we employ and supplement the food program, as well as providing better and more educational materials that will improve further the level of education we can provide. We want to provide another teacher for kinder school, and another teacher in primary school to help the 2 current teachers who cover 7 grades between them. Our secondary school we plan to increase our teacher numbers to include college education.
Our sustainable plan Café yielded its first successful crop, which in the future will hopefully cover some of our costs in the school.
It is thanks and testimony of your support during these past years, and years to come, that we can continue the projects, getting better each year and providing an education for these communities that had little chance or opportunity.
In 2014, we will be holding three charity challenges in Guatemala as well, so if you fancy heading down, seeing the projects and raising funds by challenging yourself, please see our website on http://www.thephoenixprojects.org/donate-now/challenges/
Thank you for your continued support during 2014!
cheers
