Dear Donor,
Each month brings new progress and renewed purpose, and this update highlights some of the meaningful progress unfolding across our projects, all made possible through your continued support.
From nutritious meals that fuel learning to art that inspires environmental action, October was a month where hope took visible form in classrooms and communities alike.
Following our previous update featuring our Scholars’ Workshops – A Week of Dreams, Debates, and Discovery, we’re delighted to share more updates from the field. This edition highlights our ongoing efforts through the Meals Program, Art for Climate & Community, and a proud moment from the .ORG Impact Awards.
School Meals Update
This month, our Meals Program continued to reach schools across Kisumu County, ensuring children learn with full stomachs and brighter focus. Now running in six schools, with a new pilot introduced in one more, the program is helping keep students in class by providing two wholesome meals each day.
As we approach the long holidays, our team is preparing to sustain this momentum and make sure no child is left behind. With your continued support, 30,970 meals were served this month, each one helping a child stay attentive, families worry a little less, and learning continues with hope and energy.
Your support continues to make this possible, and the impact of every contribution is tangible. With just $50 (Kshs. 6,250), you can provide 400 nutritious meals for students, helping them stay in school, learn with focus, and dream without hunger standing in the way.
Together, we can keep the bowls full, the classrooms lively, and the smiles bright.
Art for Climate & Community
At RKF, our mission through this project is to inspire learning that connects creativity, community, and care for the planet. Through education and the arts, we aim to nurture young changemakers who see themselves as part of the solution for a more sustainable future.
Since 2021, RKF has built this vision from the ground up, starting with climate action workshops that helped students understand their impact on the environment, and later creating a school garden that brought those lessons to life.
Now, that journey continues with a new mural at Central Primary School. Art has long served as a catalyst that brings people together, sparks creativity, and drives meaningful change and this mural captures that spirit perfectly.
Home to more than 1,500 children from underprivileged communities, Central Primary has become a place where creativity and environmental awareness thrive, despite limited resources and few extracurricular opportunities.
The mural transforms a once plain wall into a powerful statement of hope and belonging. It connects the ideas behind RKF’s workshops and garden; sustainability, imagination, and collaboration into one colourful story. Each brushstroke reminds students that their ideas matter and that learning extends beyond the classroom. More than just art, the mural embodies the power of community: students, teachers, parents, and partners collaborating to create lasting change.
For Central Primary, it stands as a proud reminder that education can inspire action, creativity, and care for the planet. At RKF, every project, whether it's a workshop, a garden, or a mural, plants the seeds of transformation. And thanks to your support, at Central Primary, those seeds continue to grow, colouring the future with imagination and hope.
Still Winning in Hope: .ORG Impact Awards Update
Out of nearly 3,000 entries from around the world, The Rahul Kotak Foundation was named a Finalist in the 2025 .ORG Impact Awards under the Hunger & Poverty category, celebrating our School Meals Program and the incredible community behind it. From Kisumu to Washington D.C., our story of turning hunger into hope reached a global stage, and we proudly brought home the Finalist Trophy, a symbol of our collective journey and impact.
This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing partners: Mind & Life Institute, Crown Paints, Kisumu Concrete Products, and Tridah Group, whose belief in our mission continues to drive us forward. Their generosity, collaboration, and commitment to nourishing young minds remind us that sustainable change truly happens when communities come together.
While we may not have taken home the grand award, this recognition stands as a powerful reminder of how far a shared dream can go and how much more we can achieve, together. It fuels our determination to reach even more children in 2026.
