Empower and educate slum children in Goa

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Slum children, learning through activities
Slum children, learning through activities

Dear Donor,

As always, lots have been happening in the slums of Goa, El Shaddai and even more as we come to the end of this year.  Different activities on health and hygiene were conducted for the children from the lower section, along with letters, numbers, colours, stories, rhymes, shapes and many more.

Children have started learning to read and write through daily phonics classes and hands-on activities. There are more than 1000 children who attend our slum school program conducted by the outreach workers and teachers.   Along with the learning material, they are provided with a hot meal every day.

Numerous volunteers and visitors are available for the morning and afternoon sessions to help the children continue with their learning, bringing joy and happiness to the children.

Our children are safer in our care, where our outreach workers train them to be in their homes and keep themself away from roaming around in the slum.

We are sure that with your help and support, we will be able to conduct more educational activities and provide more support to these slum children from different age groups and help them to enrol in the normal school.

Thank you with gratitude

El Shaddai Family!
