At One-Forty, our mission is to make every migrant's journey worthy and inspiring. As of March 2025, Taiwan's migrant worker population exceeds 829,772-about 1 in every 30 people. Driven by lack of opportunity and poor wages in their home countries, these workers fill essential yet low-paid roles in sectors like caregiving, manufacturing, construction, and fishing. Many arrive burdened by significant agency fees, which place them in financial distress from the start. Despite their crucial contributions, migrants face limited rights, few educational opportunities, family separation, isolating workplaces, and meager personal savings after their 12-year work term.
