Dear Supporters,
This has been a very productive quarter for our Educational Support fund in Laos fund. We spent over 1350USD towards UNSDG 4: Quality Education and increasing access to quality education for students in Laos. These funds were used to support free English and other life skills classes in town, as well as school supplies for a locally run English centre in a village about an hour outside of town.
This Quarter The GVI Trust has contributed to the continuing of GVI Laos’ free classes for male and female students from rural Laos, who come to the city to gain access to higher quality education. There are 46 (51%) male students and 45 (49%) female students benefiting from these classes.
The GVI Trust has also contributed to UNSDG 5: Gender equality by using the rented classrooms to support all-female classes and skill-building workshops. Students learned about gender equality, learned presentation skills, debating skills, and critical thinking skills, etc.
The GVI Trust also contributed to improving the quality of education in a more rural facility outside of Luangprabang city. By providing notebooks, printer paper, pens, pencils, whiteboard markers and other school supplies, the Trust was able to support the students education. These resources are important to increase the quality of education received, without access to proper teaching materials, a teacher will be less effective, and without notebooks and pens the students will be unable to take home what they’ve learned in the classroom.
Thank you for your continued contribution and commitment to the GVI Trust Program in Laos. We look forward to working together to continue to provide these opportunities in Laos in the next quarter.
With Gratitude,
Laos Education
