Girls with dreams become women with vision

Dear Donor,

Children live in harsh conditions due to poverty, isolation, and neglect. From a very young age, they learn, through their daily lives, concepts that seem otherworldly to many of us, such as hunger, disease, loneliness, and hopelessness. They grow up without knowing they have rights or dignity. Joy and play are replaced by arduous tasks within their families, such as helping to fetch drinking water and caring for domestic animals.

Through our project, we are dedicated to breaking these cycles of poverty and violence against vulnerable girls and women. Through community-driven and girl-centred approaches, we have already provided immediate support and long-term empowerment to more than hundreds of girls and women through education, medical health, skills training like tailoring, bag making, painting, card making, mehendi, computer education, macramé, etc.

Since our project’s inception, we have launched a range of impactful activities that provide immediate support and empower vulnerable girls and women. Through daily activities, children learn not only that they have rights, but that among those rights is the right to play, to dream, to have time to imagine new ways of seeing this harsh world. They discover their creative abilities by practising tailoring, painting, music, and dance, and their lives are filled with colour and hope.

Thank you for all your generous support for the provision of providing skill training to poor women and girls through El Shaddai. Our girls and women are thanking you for helping generously. Our project is more than a program; it is a movement to reclaim the future of girls and women. Already, our support has transformed the lives of more than 500 vulnerable girls and women, protecting them from any harm. With your generous support, we can extend our reach to 1000 girls and women, ensuring that every girl and woman has the opportunity to education, overall wellbeing, and become self-assured leaders.

Together we can change futures

Dear Donor,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. We are extremely grateful and thankful for your donations in helping empower girls and women. Your support is not just an act of kindness, it's a beacon of hope for many.

Underprivileged girls and women face significant challenges, including a lack of access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, often intensified by gender-based discrimination, poverty, and social norms like early marriage and dowry demands. Many are denied basic education, which traps them in a cycle of poverty and dependence.

With your help and support, El Shaddai has been able to help underprivileged girls and women by empowering and providing privileges to the less fortunate women living in backward regions and rural areas of Goa. El Shaddai helps these women with all the essential means and developmental skills in order to help them climb the ladder of self-reliance. These life skills include courses like sewing, tailoring, crochet, adult literacy, mehendi, beautician, and computers.

We have a beautiful story of a girl named Swati (name changed). She lived with her parents and every day the family’s struggles were pressed on her shoulders. She wanted to break free from this struggle and become independent. One day she came across our center’s vocational tailoring class. She decided to enroll for the same. A small step became a journey of transformation.

Today she is a skilled and confident tailor and her earnings bring relief at home. This transformation story shows us that with love and support we can make the dreams of these underprivileged girls and women come true.

"HER" Strength Lies Within!

Dear Friend,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. Women empowerment is the process of granting women the ability to make decisions about their lives, access equal opportunities, and have the power to influence social change. It involves ensuring women have the same rights, resources, and opportunities as men in areas like education, employment, and healthcare. Ultimately, it aims to create a society where women are treated with respect and can reach their full potential.

With social responsibility being an integral part of our mission, and our commitment to transforming lives, we at El Shaddai extend our support and positively impact the societies to create gender balanced learning and skilling opportunities for the future.’

The empowerment programs for girls and women includes teaching computers, literacy, and life skills like tailoring, bag making, mehndi, crochet, knitting and beautician courses. By providing access to education and training programs it will help women and girls develop new skills, knowledge and competencies. We have many homemakers who were trained in various skills/trade and have opened their own avenues to generate income. Every month we have a multitude of womenenrolling in our empowerment programs through our community centres.

Nargis (Name changed) lived in a slum in North Goa. They are a family four. Her Husband is a daily wage worker and two school going daughters. They were living hand to mouth situation. She wanted to support her husband and also contribute towards their daughter's future. She came to know about the tailoring class through our Outreach worker. She was keen to enrol for Tailoring class. She completed a 6-month tailoring course. Learnt the skill of tailoring, various patterns of blouse, dress, kurta etc. Now she runs her tailoring shop from home and is able to gets a decent income from it.

Our objective is to provide skills-based and vocational training to youth and women and enable them to secure decent employment. Thank you for your unwavering support!
