Hi There,
The last few months at Wild Horse Rescue Center have been filled with holidays and events!
We started in November we hosted “Ride a Horse Day” at our center, a great day with lots of visitors and our international volunteer were able to show the public what they had learned during their stay at the center. We also took part in the Native Rhythm Festival, this was the seventh year setting up a booth, bringing a mustang and spending the weekend teaching about America’s wild horses.
December was a fun month for our international volunteers, as we participated in a Christmas parade where we had a flout being pulled by a pickup truck, the volunteers, the dogs and four horses. We did a fundraiser, a Christmas barn-to- barn ride. We had about 35 people attended and we raised $505. A local brewing company, Playalinda Brewing co., created an APPELOOSA Apple PIE Ale that they sold for one month and donated a part of the profit to Wild Horse Rescue Center. At the end of December, the Shining Fairy Company hosted a gala, featuring the APPELOOSA Apple PIE Ale, all benefiting WHRC.
All the events were great and WHRC are very grateful for all donations!
Since moving the center to our new location, three and a half year ago, we have been working towards building permanent barn structures. Finally this dream has come true as GVI Trust fund help with their donation towards our 36’ by 60’ pole barn. This cover will work as shelter for six of our wild horse holding pens. This has been in the works for over six months, we have been getting new pipe corral gates and panels, a new 50’ pipe panel round pen along with added eight dump truck loads of sand. All these improvements really have a wonderful look and change and make working the horses easier. The barn was out up in the same day by Barns Kits of America.
A special thanks to GVI Trust and you, the supporter, for assisting us and our work with the mustangs. We have added a plaque in honor of The GVI Trust and two other foundations.
With Gratitude,
WHRC
