Dear Friend,
We are grateful for your continued support of our project providing accommodation and educational access to tribal girls in Tripura, one of the most economically disadvantaged regions of northeast India. Your generosity is helping girls from remote interior villages overcome distance, poverty, and social barriers that have long prevented them from attending school regularly.
Current Situation
Tripura remains a region where educational opportunities for girls—especially from tribal communities—are limited by geography and infrastructure. Many villages are located far from schools, with no reliable transportation. For young girls, traveling long distances daily is not only exhausting but often unsafe. Without a place to stay near their schools, many are forced to abandon their education at an early age.
Progress and Activities
With the funds raised so far, we continue to provide safe accommodation for tribal and economically disadvantaged girls who would otherwise be unable to attend school. The hostel offers them:
A secure and stable living environment close to their schools
Regular, nutritious meals that support their health and concentration
A daily routine that encourages discipline, study habits, and mutual support
Guidance from caregivers who support both academic and personal development
Living together has created a strong sense of community among the girls. They help one another with schoolwork, share responsibilities, and gradually develop confidence and independence.
Impact on the Girls
Since joining the hostel, the girls have shown noticeable improvements in school attendance, academic performance, and self-esteem. Being freed from the burden of long daily travel allows them to focus fully on learning. Many girls who were previously shy or uncertain are now actively participating in class and expressing aspirations for their future.
Equally important, the project is influencing attitudes toward girls’ education within their families and communities. Parents are increasingly recognizing that educating their daughters is both possible and valuable.
Next Steps
In the coming period, we aim to strengthen the program by:
Expanding educational support through structured study time and mentoring
Introducing basic life-skills sessions focused on hygiene, health, and responsibility
Improving learning spaces within the hostel to encourage reading and creativity
Long-Term Vision
By providing accommodation and support, this project is laying the foundation for long-term change. Educated girls are better equipped to make informed choices, support their families, and contribute positively to society. Over time, we hope this initiative will help reduce illiteracy, challenge harmful norms, and empower a new generation of responsible and confident young women in Tripura.
Thank you for standing with us and with these girls. Your support continues to open doors that were once closed.
With sincere gratitude,
Project Team
