Initiated in 1997, Tewa’s Volunteer Program has been a cornerstone of community philanthropy and women’s rights advocacy in Nepal. Each year, Tewa organizes two comprehensive training programs, mobilizing approximately 25–27 volunteers per training to support local resource mobilization efforts. These trainings equip volunteers with essential fundraising skills while fostering a strong understanding of women’s rights and development issues in Nepal.
Over a four-month mentorship period, volunteers actively engage in fundraising, advocacy, and awareness-raising initiatives, creating meaningful impact at both individual and societal levels. Since the program’s inception, a total of 1,068 volunteers have been trained between 1997 and 2025. During their mentorship period, volunteers have successfully raised more than NRs. 44 lakhs (USD 30,533.00) through their personal networks.
Volunteers are the pillars of Tewa, playing a vital role in spreading the spirit of community philanthropy and amplifying Tewa’s mission within their own communities and networks. Tewa warmly welcomes homemakers, students, women and men, LGBTQI+ individuals, job holders, and grantee partners—anyone interested in adding one tile to the women’s movement and contributing to lasting social change.
