Dear HOPE Supporters,
It is with great enthusiasm that I announce that at the end of this month, Resurge International, a non-profit that is committed to providing reconstructive surgery to those in need, will be visiting HOPE's Hospital. While Resurge International is at HOPE, they will be conducting reconstructive surgery on patients who are suffering from extreme burns; some accidental, some not. These burns have debilitated these individuals, restricted mobility and usage of their limbs and caused heinous social stigmatization. Children suffering from burns are often unable to attend school. Their inabilit to work in the future places a tremendous financial burden on their families.
HOPE is incredibly excited to transform the lives of as many children as we can. The children will further have access to physical therapists to assist in their recovery. The team from Resurge International will be additionally working to train our hospital staff in burn care. This is crucial for when we have patients arrive with severe burns to know how to respond to lessen the damage, reduce the pain and maintain usability of areas burned.
We thank you for your incredible donations and look forward to reporting to you on the success of our camp!
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh
