Be the lifeline of a 1000 children in India

All the children have finished their final exams in the school and they all are on summer vacation for two months. The children from the residential homes have finished their final exams and are on summer vacation till June 1^st. Some children have gone to villages to visit their family; other children who have stayed back at the children’s home have had great time going for picnics, outings, participating in various fun activities etc. Around 40 children are sponsored eight days holidays in Banglore where they will visit Water Park, visit a mall and go for shopping. Thanks to Jemma Selves for fundraising and organizing this kind of trips for underprivileged children every year.

Summer Club:

Inter shelter & Community Centre Summer camp was organized on 16^th April 2016 at Miramar children park Panjim from 10:00 am to 4:30 Pm.

The program was inaugurated with the lighting of Lamp by Mrs. Rupa Dalvi from (CDPO, TISWADI PANJIM GOA). A special performance was given by a team of young volunteers who presented a Dance, a skit that provided a lot of fun and entertainment. All our children with the staff participated in all the activities.

Different games were organized some were group while others were individual based. The winners were all provided with gifts. A small price distribution ceremony was also organized wherein the best students were appreciated from the different centres.

A Zumba instructor who volunteers with our Centre in Madgoa also joined us and had fun with the children.

About 400 children took part in this summer camp, all the children were provided with snacks and Lunch.

Summer Activities at our Shelters:

At the different centres, as the summer vacations have begun, the children are having fun time at the shelter. Indoor games like carrom, chess, skipping, musical chairs etc are being conducted by the staff.  The staff also conducted General knowledge Quiz, teach the children rhymes, organize drawing and painting sessions etc. The children turn up regularly to use the bathing facilities as well as for food and shelter. We also have some children at the shelter who come and visit over the weekends.

The children in El Shaddai have been doing well in their studies and growing up to be healthy children.

The children from 6 children's residential homes had great Christmas celebration. The children had Christmas Party on 26th December. The party was organized with snacks, games, African Dance, singing, special dinner and lots of fun. The place was decorated with baloons with good lighting and music. The children had great Fun. The children also decorated their homes; the bigger boys and girls made crib with baby Jesus in it. All the children were happy to receive Christmas gift. During the Diwali vacation the children had gone to swimming pool at Siolim where  they had lots of fun and enjoyed. The children goes to beach with his friends especially on Saturday and Sunday along with staff.

The Day Care Shelters across Goa provides nutritious lunch, extra coaching and school requirements to the regular children. The Shelter reach out to children through nutritiou meals distrituion on street/slum, slum schools around Calangute, Margao and Panaji. The Shelter has full time staff; fieldworkers, teacher, Incharge, and a cood. The Shelter conducted various campaigns like Prevention of Child Abuse, Prevention of Domestic violance in Slum, Personal hygine talk in school, slum and center, Health camps, Save the girl child. In the holidays the children go for outings to beach and organize lot of games. The center also conducted drawing competetion, dance competetion, spelling competetion and fency dress competetion. The Shelter had blood donation day, women's day, Seniou citizen day, World population day, Independence day, Teacher's Day etc. The children had celebrations and fun during the Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Christmas festival. Special food is cooked and served occassionally like children's party. Every month the shelter celebrates group birthdays of the children. The children are given first aid. Mock fire drill is conducted in the shelter to prevent and teach the children fire safety. The children are supervised and made sure that they are happy and doing well in the school. The children are given the school requirements once in every 3 months. The children attend the shelter regularly. We encourage management student to come in as interns to work with these children to teach them spoken english, self confidence building activites etc. in the shelter. The Shelter has many volunteer to help with the activities. All of the children are coming from deprived and broken families. They need your continous support.
